Mission Statement

The Interprovincial Faith and Order Commission serves the Moravian Church in North America under the direction of the Provincial Elders' Conferences regarding matters of theological, doctrinal and ethical significance.

Foundation for Existence of a Faith and Order Commission

The Church Order of the Unitas Fratrum and the enactments of our respective Provincial Synods provide the foundation for examination of such issues put forward to the Commission by the Provincial Elders, either singly or jointly, or by the Provincial Synods.

The Commission may also initiate a study of theological, doctrinal and ethical issues it believes, under the direction of the Holy Spirit, to be of significance to the Church. This task is undertaken in the context of prayer and worship by which, we believe, the will of God is more clearly known and obeyed.
