Riddick Weber joins faculty The Rev. Dr. C. Riddick Weber has joined the faculty as Assistant Professor of Pastoral Ministry, filling the position most recently held by the Rev. Dr. Glen Stoudt, who will be returning to parish ministry in Ottawa, Ontario in February. An ordained Moravian pastor, Riddick has served the Fairview Moravian Church in Winston-Salem, NC since 2002. For the past two years he has also taught a course at Salem College on the theology, history and social structures of the Moravian Church. From 2000-2003, when Moravian Seminary delivered video conferenced classes to students in Winston-Salem, Riddick served as the onsite Technology Specialist. His experience as a congregational pastor, teacher and academician combine gifts that particularly suit him to this faculty position that shapes and prepares individuals for leadership in ministry. Next time you're in Bahnson Center, please welcome Dr. Weber to our faculty. And if you're wondering if he is related to the family of the "Weber Memorial Lectures" — the answer is yes, he is son of Rev. Bruce Weber, one of the 3 Weber brothers who founded the annual lectureship in 1954. Click here for more information about our newest faculty member. |

Spring endowed lectures available by streaming video The Office of Continuing Ed is pleased to announce that the Weber Lectures and the Zeisberger Lectures will be available for participation via streaming video. This technology was tested in the fall with the Couillard Lectures. Continuing Ed director, Steve Simmons reports that the individuals who "attended" the Couillard Lectures by streaming video were very satisfied with the quality of the transmission. During the Q and A session, several of our online participants sent text messages to friends sitting in the audience with questions for the presenter. For the upcoming lectures an email address will be available for those participants to ask questions of the presenters on the day of the event.
Contact the Office of Continuing Ed to register or for more information. |
