A historical study of Word and Sacrament in the Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, Pentecostal, and New Church traditions. Attention will be given also to the uses of space and time in worship and to the practices of particular communities of faith. In the second half of the course, students will present seminar papers for discussion.
