This interactive course will address the theoretical, theological, and practical concerns of Christian Education in the local congregation. Learners will become acquainted with the formative figures that have shaped religious education and current trends in the field. There will be opportunities to acquire and practice skills in teaching, adult discussion groups, creative Bible study, evaluation of curriculum and planning comprehensive programs for persons from the cradle to the grave. Learners will experience “teaching from the heart,” a method which acknowledges God as the great teacher who guides and empowers Christian Education. A Supervised Ministry placement or approved alternative is required.
