Frank became Dean in 2001 after serving five years as professor of New Testament. Recognized for his scholarship and innovation in the classroom, he continues to feed his love for teaching by instructing one class each semester.

He approaches theological education and administration with a series of questions in mind: “How do we stay faithful to the enduring ways of God while also opening ourselves to God’s call to follow paths that seem unprecedented and new?” “Who (or what) matters to us when we consider the use of our resources and the focus of our ministries?” “How can we bear witness to the gospel with faith, hope, and love in an unpredictable and often violent world?” Frank encourages the Seminary community to grapple with questions and answers, seeking — as Scripture counsels — to “test everything, and hold fast to what is good.”
