Grace Ji-Sun Kim’s theological interest is in the area of Constructive Theology, Feminist Theology and Asian Theology. Her teaching and research centers on giving a voice to the marginalized and those on the underside of history. Her new book The Holy Spirit, Chi, and the Other: A Model of Global and Intercultural Pneumatology (Palgrave Macmillan) will be out this coming fall. Kim has published The Grace of Sophia (Pilgrim Press) which offers strength for the journey to empowerment and hope in the search for a liberative Christology. Presently, she is working on a volume on 1 & 2 Chronicles, Ezra, and Nehemiah, in Belief: A Theological Commentary on the Bible, (Westminster John Knox Press).
She also has numerous book chapters such as, “Exploring Holy Spirit, Chi and the Other,” in A New Day, edited by Akintunde Akinade (Peter Lang), “Asian American Feminist Theology,” in Liberation Theologies in the United States, edited by Anthony Pinn and Stacey M. Floyd-Thomas (NYU Press), three Theological Commentaries in Feasting on the Word, Volume XII, edited by David L. Bartlett & Barbara Brown Taylor (WJK Press), as well as “What Forms Us: Multiculturalism, the Other and Theology,” in Feminist Theology With A Canadian Accent, edited by Mary Ann Beavis (Novalis). Kim is active in the academy, serves on AAR’s ‘Racial and Ethnic Minorities Committee” and is part of the “Korean Systematic Theology Group” (AAR). She also serves on AAR’s steering committees, “Comparative Theology Group” and “Women of Color Scholarship, Teaching and Activism Consultation.” |
