Step One
Fill out the online application.
Step Two
Submit a $35 application fee. Please make checks payable to “Moravian Theological Seminary.”
The application fee is waived for applicants who have attended an admission event or come for a campus visit.
Step Three
Submit the following materials according to your desired program of study.
Degree Programs (MDIV, MATS, MAPC) and Formative Spirituality Certificate*
- Three letters of reference, one from a pastor, professor/employer, and a layperson (http://www.moravianseminary.edu/adm/forms.html)
- Official transcripts from all schools attended beyond high school
- Denominational endorsement (MDIV candidates only)
- Autobiographical essay
The autobiographical essay may either be submitted with the online application or emailed to the Director of Enrollment. The essay must be at least 500 typewritten words and address the following questions:
1. What significant persons, convictions, and events have influenced your life?
2. What is your understanding of faith and your faith experience?
3. Why are you pursuing theological education at this time and why have you chosen Moravian Theological Seminary?
4. What are your goals after completion of your proposed course of study?
*A campus interview may be requested for any of the programs of study listed above.
Non-Degree Program

Auditor
- Official transcripts from all schools attended beyond high school
- Registration form with course selections
Step Four
Submit any additional materials such as Housing and Financial Aid applications. Forms can be downloaded here.
Moravian Seminary practices a rolling admissions process. After all application materials are received, your application will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee and you will be contacted within 5-10 business days.
International students should begin the inquiry process at least one year prior to the intended semester of enrollment. All application materials (including TOEFL/TWE scores) must be received by April 1 to be considered for admission in the fall semester.
