Rev. Bruce Sanguin, the author of The Emerging Church: A Model for Change and a Map for Renewal, will discuss the ways in which the work of cutting-edge leadership theorists like Margaret Wheatley, Don Beck, and Chris Cowan can promote congregational growth and transformation in a time of constant change.
In presenting a theology of evolutionary Christian mysticism, Bruce will share the principles, programs and processes that naturally emerge from this model. His talks will be grounded in 25 years of congregational ministry and 14 years of intentional culture shifting with the community he is now serving. He will describe how "the mind of Christ" (see I Cor. 2:16) emerges in sync with our dominant worldviews and value systems, and how understanding this process can shape congregational leadership for the future. He notes that “As habitats of creative emergence congregations have a decisive role to play in helping people evolve in and toward the heart and mind of Christ.”
