While spiritual direction is rooted in ancient spiritual practices, it has only recently made its way from religious circles to laity. Many are curious about the practice of Spiritual Direction but are hesitant to make a long term commitment until they have a better understanding of how this practice can help them live their lives in a more integrated and intentional way. This offering responds to the question “What is spiritual direction?” Through intellectual exploration of the practice, a personal experience of individual spiritual direction (three individual sessions) and group conversation focusing on the participants’ experience of these sessions, this class will offer a chance to discover what spiritual direction helps us do in a way that is personally relevant.
* Spiritual directors will be available for an additional $25/session. Although individual sessions with a director are not required, they will greatly enhance the experience of the course and are strongly recommended. |
