In this time of radical and seemingly continuous change, everyone seems to have advice to share on the ways we make important life decisions (Make lists? Go with the flow? Trust your instincts?). How do we navigate our way through the major life transitions and the small but cumulative choices that, in the long run, make up a life? And what does God have to do with it? We will consider these questions by reading, discussing, and working with Elizabeth Liebert’s book, The Way of Discernment: Spiritual Practices for Decision Making. In this wide-ranging look at the sources we can draw upon in making our way through the world, Dr. Liebert offers the encouragement that “The only ways we can fail at discernment are by stubbornly turning our back on spiritual freedom or by deciding not to seek God’s call in this situation at all.” Come explore with us!
