Guest instructors will present actual case studies. The purpose of this course is to help lay leaders create positive, ethical atmospheres for high functioning congregations. MAPS – Missional Application Programs are new to the CROSSROADS curriculum and are designed as a way for participants to keep in touch, learn new concepts and apply them to projects. Some MAPs will be one-time workshops building on class experiences. Others will be practical application of classroom learning. Some MAPs will have course pre-requisites in order to participate in the project design. MAPs are available for CROSSROADS participants and graduates as a way of continuing connection within the program.
If you would like to participate but have not attended the Spiritual Formation course, please contact Jill Peters.
Fall 2010 MAPs – Blue Christmas Event to be held Dec 21
Last year the Spiritual Formation class worked on a the Blue Christmas concept as a way to provide a contemplative holiday event for those for whom the holidays may be a difficult time of year. Held on Dec 21, the shortest day of the year, these services are sometimes called Longest Night Events. CROSSROADs graduates and current participants can volunteer to be part of the planning and running of this service. It will be held at the seminary and is open to the community. There are two pre-requisite to be part of the planning team: My Journey/Our Journey (Spiritual Formation) and at least one of the following: Mapping the Route (Theology), Creative Worship, Old Testament or New Testament. Register to be part of the planning team. For more information contact Jill Peters at jpeters@moravian.edu.
