Spiritual Life

A goal of MTS is to help students develop intellectually, professionally and spiritually.

Chapel & Eucharist Services
Weekly chapel services are coordinated by the Chaplain, utilizing the leadership of both faculty and students. As well, weekly eucharist services incorporate a time of community sharing, guided devotion, with the celebration of Holy Communion. Vespers services also take place on a weekly basis as an alternative form of worship. All services offer students the opportunity to be spiritually nurtured and to develop skills in worship planning and leadership.

Spiritual Life Committee
The Spiritual Life Committee, consisting of students who work in partnership with the Chaplain, provides opportunities for spiritual enrichment and devotional discipline through:
    • retreats
    • spiritual formation programming
    • alternative prayer practices, such as Labyrinth meditation.

Prayer Labyrinth
The seminary community benefits from having its own Prayer Labyrinth which spans the full space of the Saal of Bahnson Center. The Labyrinth, and training for its use, is available to students and Faculty on a regular basis each semester.
