DISCONTINUANCE:
In the first term of study at MTS, any student who completes three scheduled courses and achieves less than 0.50 GPA will be discontinued. ("Scheduled courses" excludes courses from which the student has withdrawn.)
PROBATION:
Students who are admitted on academic probation must achieve a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or better after two consecutive semesters (or after 24 credit hours for a part-time student). Failure to meet that standard will be sufficient grounds for the faculty, at its discretion, to dismiss the student as a degree candidate.
A student whose cumulative grade point average falls below 2.5 after 12 credit hours of study is automatically placed on academic probation.
Students who are placed on academic probation must achieve a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or better at the completion of the semester following the one in which they were put on academic probation (or after 12 additional credit hours for a part-time student). Failure to meet that standard will be sufficient grounds for the faculty, at its discretion, to dismiss the student as a degree candidate.
Academic probation will affect financial aid eligibility.
