The Learning Services Office provides support and assistance to students
who are experiencing academic difficulty and those who wish to
maximize their academic performance. Peer tutoring for specific
courses is
available. Through individual and group programming, students are
given the opportunity to enhance time-management and study skills.
Learning Services coordinates a faculty referral system and a program
of midterm academic intervention for students at risk of failure.
Students should notify Learning Services of extended absence from
classes because of illness or personal emergencies.
Learning
Services coordinates requests for classroom and testing accommodations
for students with documented learning disabilities
and ADHD, in accordance
with Section 504 of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990
and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Such requests must be submitted
to
Learning Services prior to the start of the semester for which
accommodations are being requested. Psycho-educational documentation
must be submitted
for evaluation and determination of appropriate accommodations.
Students are responsible for making the request for accommodation,
submitting
required documentation, and obtaining accommodation letters from
Learning Services at the beginning of each semester for which
accommodation is sought. For specific information on the nature
of the documentation
required, please contact Learning
Services. See also Disability
Support Services.
The office is located at 1307 Main Street. 610 861-1510.
