On July 28, 2008, the Rev. Marcia Theadford joined the Seminary staff as the Director of Vocation & Enrollment.
Marcia (pronounced “Mar-see-a”) brings over 15 years of experience in admissions, student services, and financial aid, most recently serving as Advising/Career Link Specialist at Northampton Community College. Her work at NCC focused on embracing and speaking to factors of diversity, addressing sensitive socioeconomic and family issues affecting student life, maintaining academic standards and policies, enhancing student retention, and handling other administrative responsibilities related to student and institutional life.
Marcia earned a Master of Education degree from Texas Christian University, focusing on educational administration and supervision. Her ordination and service in the Southern Baptist Association of Mission Churches, combined with her course work in the Masters of Arts in Pastoral Counseling program at the Seminary, gives her in-depth understanding of the expectations and demands of both congregational and counseling ministries. From her time as a student here, she also brings a deep appreciation for the Seminary’s role as the denominational seminary for the Moravian Church and as a regional seminary preparing people for congregational, counseling, teaching, and other ministries.
Marcia fills the administrative position previously held by Melissa Johnson, who accepted a call to serve as pastor for Spiritual Formation and Outreach at Palmer Moravian Church in Easton, PA. Marcia will oversee the admission processes and all aspects of student life, additional responsibilities will include an increased thrust in helping prospective students discern call and vocation, increasing the diversity of our student body, managing the new assessment process for student progress, and cultivating relationships with local judicatories and the Moravian Church.
We welcome Marcia to the Seminary community and look forward to her leadership and ministry here. |
