Kay Ward, former administrator and faculty member, publishes third book

Moravian Church Bishop, Kay Ward, who served as MTS administrator and faculty member from 1990-2005, has written her third book for a series for the Moravian Church. Like her earlier books of thoughtful stories, Hoping for Spring is a compilation of essays that speak to discovery, a love of writing, reliving of memories, and weaving God through everyday life. Each chapter includes a story from the Bible and several short essays related to the months of the year with recipes sprinkled throughout.

Hoping for Spring is Ward’s third book in the series with her first publication being Of Seasons & Sparrows in 2000. Her second book, Heading Home, was published in 2005 shortly after she retired from her position at the Seminary. A cataloguer and a writer all of her life, Kay has kept a diary every day since since she was 5 years old. During her tenure at the Seminary, she was a featured columnist for the The Express Times newspaper (Easton, PA), her first book features many of these pieces.

Hoping for Spring is due to be released in November and will be available through the Interprovincial Board of Publications of the Moravian Church for $14.95.

Bishop Ward will be holding a book signing on December 5th at the Moravian Book Shop located at 428 Main Street, Bethlehem. (visit www.moravianbookshop.com closer to the date for exact times).
