Are Moravians evangelical? Moses lecture will explore the question

Moravian University will present the annual Walter Vivian Moses Lecture on Wednesday, October 29, at 4 p.m., featuring Dr. Jared Burkholder, Scholar in Residence at Moravian University School of Theology.
Dr. Burkholder will deliver a lecture titled “Moravians and the Evangelical Question,” exploring the relationship between Moravian theology and evangelical Christianity.
The presentation at Moravian University’s Bahnson Center (60 W Locust St, Bethlehem) promises to offer valuable insights into how the historic Moravian Church engages with current religious movements and identity.
“Dr. Burkholder’s scholarship offers a timely examination of where Moravian tradition intersects with broader evangelical movements,” says Dr. Christian Rice, Dean of the School of Theology. “This lecture invites us to reflect critically on our theological identity and how we contribute to contemporary conversations about faith and practice.”
The event is free and open to the public. Registration is required for both in-person and Zoom attendance. The lecture offers a virtual attendance option available via Zoom for those unable to attend in person.
