Rev. Dr. Lindsey Scott
![]() | Director of Strategic Programs, Lifelong Learning, and Doctor of Ministry ProgramPhD in Religion, Baylor University |
Lindsey joined the faculty and staff of the Seminary in 2024, after falling in love with the community while guest teaching the New Testament class on Lancaster’s campus the year before. They jumped at the chance to bring their strategic, pastoral, collaborative, and administrative gifts to the new School of Theology, directing the Doctor of Ministry program and non-credit programs for Lifelong Learning.
Lindsey earned a PhD in New Testament from Baylor University, is ordained in the Alliance of Baptists, and has taught, designed, and facilitated programs in a variety of contexts including Baylor University, Texas Christian University, Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University, Campbell University, and most recently, Princeton Theological Seminary. They are passionate about making theological reflection and ministry training accessible and thinking creatively about how theological education can shift to meet the changing needs of the church and the world.
Lindsey is grateful for how queerness has shaped their personal experience of gender and sexuality, helping them to reconsider some of the status quo categories they inherited in their early life experiences. They seek to bring a generous, curious, and critical perspective into how they consider other aspects of the world around them – including how they read the Bible, how they reflect theologically, how they think through current issues and age-old topics of power and privilege. They invite this same generous curiosity and critical perspective in their classes, in their strategic program design, and in the conversation they may share with you over lunch.
Lindsey is most fulfilled contributing to a team of folks who share the same values and are working together toward an important mission. They are excited to be a part of the School of Theology as it builds new programs to equip leaders for the future of the church, and they are proud to align with two seminaries (Moravian and Lancaster) known for their commitment to inclusion and social justice.
When they aren’t at work, Lindsey is likely singing with the Transcendent Choir of Philadelphia, cooking or eating something delicious, or learning a new board game.
